The flashback pheasant tail nymph is one of my favorite flies to fish, you could call it my "bread n butter" fly, this pattern will catch fish all year where you see may fly hatches. There are several variations of the pheasant tail, you can try one without any flashback or no wing casing, you could also try it with a pheasant tail wing casing. Good luck tying and let us know what you think or if you would like to see any other patterns.
Materials needed
-6/0 brown thread

The parachute PMD is a great little fly I use a lot when fishing small creeks where fish aren't pressured as much. I seem to go through a lot of these flies so I simplified them by using a thread body rather than a dubbed body. The main point I wanted to get across was the technique used to tie the parachute portion of the fly. I found using this technique will allow you to tie much better parachute patterns. Good luck tying.
